  • God’s Plan for the Gay Agenda – John MacArthur

Source: Grace To You - Posted: 7 years ago

Here's a really good article from John MacArthur on responding to the homosexual agenda: "What should be your response to the homosexual agenda? Make it a biblical response—confront it with the truth of Scripture that condemns homosexuality and promises eternal damnation for all who practice it. What should be your response to the homosexual? Make it a gospel response—confront him with the truth of Scripture that condemns him as a sinner, and point him to the hope of salvation through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. Stay faithful to the Lord as you respond to homosexuality by honoring His Word, and leave the results to Him."

  • A Few Brief Thoughts on the Hatmaker Hermeneutic – Kevin DeYoung

Source: The Gospel Coalition - Posted: 7 years ago

In this must-read, Kevin DeYoung responds to Brandon Hatmaker on what the Bible says about homosexual behavior: "If we tug at the Bible’s teaching on sex, family, and marriage–the basics of which have been affirmed for two millennia and are still affirmed by almost all Christians outside the West—we will lose more than logical and hermeneutical consistency. We lose important elements of the gospel itself."

  • The Hill to Die On, For There are No Other Hills – James White

Source: Alpha & Omega Ministries - Posted: 7 years ago

Dr. James White rights on the movement to make homosexuality an acceptable behavior in the church. "The believer who wishes to engage this darkened world and seek to be 'salt and light' needs to see this attack for what it is: a devastating assault that has to be met head-on. It cannot be ignored, it cannot be accepted. It is the very reason The Reformation Project exists, why Matthew Vines does what he does, why Brownson wrote his book, and so many others. To allow this argument to stand is to lose the war. It is that pernicious."

  • Rep. Malone Caves on Bathroom Controversy, Calls for ‘Full Repeal of HB2’

Source: The News & Observer - Posted: 7 years ago

In a campaign mailer funded by the N.C. Republican Party, GOP state Rep. Chris Malone is calling for the “full repeal of HB2." Malone, a Wake Forest Republican, voted for the bill in March, but has since changed sides in the debate. "HB2 is costing Wake County and North Carolina too much,” Malone writes in the mailer. “I call for a full repeal of HB2 now. I also support adding anti-discrimination language to state laws." Here's our take on things: We will never support a man for public office who stops protecting our women once it gets too expensive.

  • Court Justices or Court Jesters?: The Mishandling of the Moore Case – Hannah Ford

Source: Alabama Political Reporter - Posted: 7 years ago

Fact: Lyn Stuart is biased against Chief Justice Moore. When the Judicial Inquiry Commission files charges against a judge — nothing is over. You don’t rearrange things, you don’t clear the office computers, and you don’t move the executive assistant. If you do, you’re partial. When an illegal decision from the Court of the Judiciary is on appeal, you don’t act like it’s over, you don’t fire staff, you don’t ask the judge to clean house and hand over keys, and you don’t change the stationery — unless, of course, you’re blatantly partial.

  • Memo to the Washington Post: The Bible Does Reject ‘Transgender’ Behavior – Rob Gagnon

Source: The Stream - Posted: 7 years ago

Does the Bible reject transgender behavior? That seems like a question with a rather obvious answer, but that hasn't kept the Washington Post from publishing propaganda pieces on the subject. Dr. Robert A. J. Gagnon has posted an excellent response to the WP. Here's a good quote: "It is lamentable that the Washington Post is more interested in propaganda for the 'transgender' cause than in credible scholarship. If they don’t like what the Judeo-Christian Scriptures have to say, then they should just say so rather than attempt to distort the witness of these texts in order to service their tainted ideological objectives. When the ends justify the means, all trust is lost in the integrity of the alleged journalism."

Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore has filed an appeal to the Alabama Supreme Court of his suspension without pay through the remainder of his term. Moore was suspended by the politically-motivated Alabama Court of the Judiciary (COJ), which allegedly found him guilty on six charges of violating canons of judicial ethics. "The COJ's disparity in punishment and disdain for the law and the rules is a travesty," attorney Mat Staver said. "Liberty Counsel and Chief Justice Moore will continue to fight this battle to restore the rule of law. The case has already been appealed to the Alabama Supreme Court."

  • What Does the Bible Say About Transgenderism? – Kevin DeYoung

Source: The Gospel Coalition - Posted: 7 years ago

Here's a great article on the Bible and transgenderism from Kevin DeYoung. "Some would argue that the Bible says nothing about the explosion of the transgender phenomenon in the Western world," DeYoung says. "After all, there is no verse that says, 'Thou shalt not transition from a man to a woman.' . . . But that hardly means the Bible provides no guidance for Christians trying to make sense of our transgender moment. In fact, when it comes to transgenderism, the Bible actually has a lot to say—not by a prooftext here or there but by a rich and pervasive understanding of gender and sexual identity."

  • They’ll Never Come After Churches… Until They Do – Denny Burk

Here's a really Insightful post from Denny Burk. "The Massachusetts Commission against Discrimination issued a document last week titled 'Gender Identity Guidance,' " Burk says. "Among other things, it requires places of public accommodation to acknowledge and affirm transgender identities. . . . What does this mean? It means that the activists are not going to leave churches alone. They are coming for churches to make them conform or risk sanction by the state. It’s already happening in Massachusetts. I expect it to will spread to other states as well."

Churches in the People’s Republic of Massachusetts have grave concerns about a new anti-discrimination law that could force congregations to accommodate the "transgender community" – under the threat of fines and jail time. The law, which goes into effect in October, does not specifically mention churches or other houses of worship. However, Attorney General Maura Healey wrote that places of public accommodation include: “auditoriums, convention centers, lecture halls, houses of worship, and other places of public gathering.”

  • No, God Isn’t Transgender – Rob Gagnon

Source: First Things - Posted: 7 years ago

In what has to be a new low for the New York Times, the Gray Lady has published an op-ed piece titled “Is God Transgender?” by a New York rabbi named Mark Sameth. Sameth contends that “the Hebrew Bible, when read in its original language, offers a highly elastic view of gender.” He marshals many purported examples of gender fluidity in the Hebrew scriptures, including the preposterous claim that the God of Israel was worshipped originally as “a dual-gendered deity.” In this response to Sameth, Dr. Robert A. J. Gagnon demonstrates that "No historical evidence supports Sameth’s reading—only his own sex ideology."

  • Lt. Governor Dan Forest Responds to NCAA

Source: Defending Marriage - Posted: 7 years ago

On September 12, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced their intention to relocate all seven previously awarded championship events from North Carolina during the 2016-17 academic year. The decision was primarily due to North Carolina's HB2, which prevented the City of Charlotte from forcibly opening up all women's restrooms, showers, and locker rooms to men. "The line has now been drawn in the sand, first by Hollywood, now by the NBA and NCAA, either accept their ‘progressive sexual agenda’ or pay the price," NC Lt. Governor Dan Forest said in response to the NCAA's decision. "North Carolina will not play that game. We value our women too much to put a price tag on their heads."

Christians in America now face a moment of judgment at the hands of a secular culture that grows more intensely adversarial with each passing day. Churches, institutions, and individuals committed to the Christian church’s historic sexual ethic, held consistently over two millennia, now find themselves faced with a stark choice — join the sexual revolution or face the consequences.
