• Cruz: Allowing Men to Enter Women’s Bathrooms ‘Opens the Door for Predators’

Sen. Ted Cruz defended his stance for bathroom privacy on the weekend after Bruce Jenner claimed he was equating people who identify as transgender with child molesters.

Jenner, a former Olympian who now identifies as “Caitlin,” made the comment in a video on Facebook showing him use the women’s bathroom at Trump Tower. He made the video after Donald Trump’s comments supporting the transgender bathroom agenda.

“By the way, Ted, nobody got molested,” Jenner says on the video.

CNN’s Jake Tapper asked Cruz about comment on State of the Union Sunday.

“It doesn’t make sense for grown adult men, strangers, to be alone in a restroom with a little girl,” Cruz said.

“Frankly, the concern is not the Caitlyn Jenners of the world,” he continued. “But if the law is such that any man if he feels like it can go in a women’s restroom and you can’t ask him to leave, that opens the door for predators.”

“I spent a lot of years in law enforcement dealing with child predators who are sick individuals,” he said. “And that doesn’t mean that that is the people who are transgendered, but there are predators in the world and—and just saying that if you’re a man you can go in the girl’s restroom if you feel like it…opens the door for criminals.”

There have been numerous cases of sexual predators abusing liberal policies that prioritize one’s self-perception over biological reality. For example, in 2014, a Toronto man “self-identified” as a woman in order to be allowed access to women’s shelters. He subsequently sexually assaulted several women.

Tapper responded that the law wouldn’t be about men like “you or I” because neither of them identify as transgender.

“But the law doesn’t specify transgender, it’s whatever you feel like at the given moment,” retorted Cruz.

The presidential candidate then pivoted to blasting Trump for his support of transgender bathroom policies. “This is the height of political correctness for Donald Trump to say, yes, let grown men in the bathroom with little girls,” said Cruz.
